Discover Brittany's Culinary Journey and the Vision Behind Mountain Meals and More

Updated: Feb 2

Food connects us all. It tells stories, builds community, brings comfort, and sparks creativity. I’m Brittany, and I’m excited to share my journey with you, along with the vision that drives Mountain Meals and More. This blog is a space where my passion for cooking and baking meets a desire to inspire others to enjoy wholesome, delicious food every day.

My Culinary Background

My love for food started early. Growing up, I spent countless hours in the kitchen with my family, learning the basics of cooking and baking. I remember when my mom would make pies, my sister, brother, and I would run to the meadow to pick minuscule wild mountain strawberries to make mini pies. These pies also contained a little dirt, strawberry greens, and a pine needle or two, but the purest strawberry taste you could imagine! Those moments shaped my appreciation for simple, honest ingredients and the joy of creating food. Over the years, I developed this love through hands-on experience in various kitchens and food establishments.

I’ve worked and learned in cozy mountain lodges, cafes, restaurants, home kitchens, and even an underground space in Paris France. Each place teaching me something new about flavors, techniques, and the importance of quality. Baking, in particular, became a passion because it blends science and creativity in a way that always feels rewarding. From flaky pastries to hearty breads, I enjoy crafting food that comforts and delights.

What Mountain Meals and More Stands For

Mountain Meals and More is more than just a food business. It’s a reflection of my values and my vision for how food should be experienced. Here’s what I want this space to represent:

My Food Philosophy

Food is nourishment for the body and soul. I see cooking and baking as acts of care, creativity, and mindfulness. Here are some key ideas that guide my approach:

  • Balance and Variety

I encourage exploring different flavors and textures while keeping meals balanced. This means mixing fresh vegetables, proteins, grains, and treats in a way that feels satisfying.

  • Respect for Tradition and Innovation

I love honoring classic recipes but also enjoy experimenting with new ideas. This blend keeps food exciting and meaningful.

  • Mindful Eating

Paying attention to what we eat and how it makes us feel is important. I want to help readers develop a healthy relationship with food, free from guilt or pressure.

Brittany, I received my first meal this Tuesday. I love to cook, have catered for 8 years with an amazing chef, and worked with many others. My uncle owned his own restaurant, so I guess the love for cooking runs in our family. I could not have prepared the 2/27 meal as well as you did, myself. The Chicken alla Toscana was such an amazing, mouth-watering blend of flavors, yet each ingredient could be tasted individually as well. The chicken was tender, and the sundried tomato and herb sauce was perfection. The garlic knots, salad, and mashed potatoes ( with little lumps that say they are homemade by a true mashed connoisseur:)were delicious. Please offer the sticky toffee pudding every…
